Since Brodie Lee stepped foot in AEW, certain parallels between his character and the real-life persona of Vince McMahon have been drawn, but Lee says any similarity is purely coincidental.

In an interview with Busted Open Radio, Lee says there was no motivation to parody McMahon. "Nothing was intentional. I have no reason to hate WWE. No reason to hate Vince McMahon. Nothing like that," he said.

Lee, formerly Luke Harper in WWE, made his AEW debut on March 18th. Since then, he's done things like chastise those around him for sneezing, something that McMahon notoriously hates. He's also forced people to call him "Mr. Brodie," which many perceived as another shot at Vince.

The character, Lee says, is an ode to cinema. "I happen to be a fan of mafia movies, so that's the way the character was portrayed for me," he said. "You people can take it however you want."

Vince mockery or not, Brodie Lee is set to challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at "Double or Nothing" on May 23rd.
