Alexa Bliss vs. Trish Stratus was the first match confirmed for Evolution, but Alexa says her recent injury was not the reason for the switch to a tag team affair weeks later.

Bliss was a guest on the latest episode of Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia and talked about the match being changed to her and Mickie James against Trish Stratus and Lita. 

"I know there's lots of speculation on Twitter I've seen cause I was injured -- or this, that and the other -- but no, I think it was just the direction they wanted to go in," Alexa explained. 

Bliss says they were told about the switch the day of the announcement, but creative assured them that there was no specific reason for the change. 

"I feel like it's a lot more fun to have Mickie involved because of Trish and Mickie's history ...it needed to be done," she added. "I feel like they saw the value in that match and wanted to go with it. It wasn't anything that happened that turned it into a tag match."
