Former WWE Superstar Alberto El Patron no-showed an event he was scheduled to work this weekend … and the wrestler claims it was because he got attacked by a knife-wielding man.
El Patron issued a statement on Instagram Monday saying, “Mr. Rodriguez (“Alberto El Patron”) shortly after eating a meal before his flight was assaulted by a criminal with a knife outside the restaurant. Mr. Rodriguez suffered multiple lacerations on his arm and other parts of his body defending against the criminal as Police were called by witnesses.”
The statement goes on to say that El Patron regrets not being able to make the appearance and will not miss any shows for the rest of the year — which is surprising, given the gnarliness of his wounds.
Note: El Patron is the second wrestler to get stabbed in the past week. Jamie Noble was stabbed Wednesday as a result of a road rage incident.
