AEW knocked it out of the park with a touching episode of Dynamite that honored the memory of the late Brodie Lee in the most beautiful way
It began with a 10 bell salute.
The show opened with members of the AEW roster standing at the top the ramp. They were joined by Brodie’s wife Amanda, and his two sons.
As the 10 bell salute rang throughout the arena, Brodie’s friends and colleagues fought back the tears as they remembered their friend.
Throughout the episode, various video packages were aired to honor Brodie’s life and career. The first was a message from Jon Moxley. Mox has a long history with Brodie that predates their WWE tenures.
In a different video, AEW referee Bryce Remsburg said that if there was a Mount Rushmore of wresting fathers, Brodie would be on it.
At the end of the night, Cody Rhodes and Tony Khan were joined in the ring by Brodie’s family. A pair of Brodie’s ring boots were placed on the ring canvas, and one of his bandanas was draped over the boots. Khan gifted Brodie Jr. with the TNT Championship belt, and proclaimed him “TNT Champion for life.”
A final video package closed the show. This one featured footage of Brodie’s indie career, and several photos which featured WWE talent like Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, and Bray Wyatt.
