NXT signee Terrance Jean-Jacques was charged with assaulting his pregnant girlfriend Jillian Gilman last week ... and now the wrestler has issued a statement on the situation.

Jean-Jacques responded to his arrest on Facebook by saying, "I just wanted to take the time and thank everyone who has been there for me and remain there for me through these hard times. Sh*t happens and I chose to remain loyal to something I maybe should have gave up ."

He went on to elude to the fact that his belief in love and his desire to be with his unborn daughter caused him to stay with his girlfriend, despite people telling him to leave.

As we previously reported, sources told The Sheet he’s been accused of sitting on his pregnant girlfriend to stop the woman from leaving her apartment. The WWE has also already suspended him while waiting to see how things play out in court.

Jean-Jacques admits to being "humiliated and hurt," but claims he's forward-minded and focused on getting through this difficult time. He concluded by saying, "And at the end of the day, the people who matter know who I really am as a person, and the truth will come out. I will be back."
