Sam Adonis used homophobic slurs in a promo at a RevPro event over the weekend and now the wrestler is apologizing for his actions.

Adonis reportedly referred to members of the audience as "f*ggots" during the promo, causing many people in the audience to turn their back and chant "don't come back."

After the show, promoter Andy Quildan tweeted saying: "Official statement will come tomorrow but to reiterate what I said at the show. I’m sorry. Pro Wrestling is a beautiful thing and sadly tonight we saw an ugly side of it. I’m happy to answer anyone’s concerns/questions & trust me when I say I’m just as disappointed as you guys."

Sam initially tweeted about the negative reaction saying fans should just enjoy the ride. "I did a 'Pro Trump' gimmick in Mexico and I was called racist. The wresting fans let the story unfold then accepted me as one of their own," he wrote. "A book can never be understood by reading only the first chapter. #EnjoyTheRide"

However, Adonis has now put out new statement saying he's sorry:

I am truly sorry to anyone that I have upset with my in ring actions at Revolution Pro in London Yesterday. Sam Adonis is a Fictional Character that I portray in the realm of Pro Wrestling. My lack of judgement lead me to believe that offensive comments would be accepted as entertainment in the 18+ venue in which I was performing. These are not my personal beliefs and I am ashamed of letting the fans down.

UPDATE: RevPro released a statement saying Adonis has been pulled from future shows and the company will be putting procedures in place to ensure something like this doesn't happen again.
