Lucha Underground star Pentagon Jr. is the new Impact World Champion following the main event of Sunday night's Redemption pay-per-view.
Pentagon picked up the surprise victory over Fenix and Austin Aries after he hit the former champion with a Pentagon Driver to cap off a well-received match.
The title switch is unexpected, since Penta has not been featured on Impact's weekly show. Plus, it appears as though he's only working for the company under their agreement with Lucha Underground. However, this definitely shakes things up going forward.
Aries tweeted after the show saying, "Temporary setback....ain’t the first, won’t be the last."
