SmackDown Live general manager Paige has confirmed a giant rematch for Evolution — with a stipulation we’ve yet to see in a WWE women’s match.

This week’s episode of SmackDown Live featured Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair for the Women’s Championship, but the match went to a double count-out.

Paige confirmed later in the show that the rematch would take place at WWE’s upcoming women’s only event later this month as a Last Woman Standing match.

As we previously reported, Alexa Bliss vs Trish Stratus and Mickie James vs Lita have been merged into one tag team match at Evolution. Plus, Nikki Bella vs. Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s title has been announced. The show will also include the finals of the Mae Young Classic and Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s title.

Except…it isn’t the first ever Last Woman Standing match. Asuka vs Nikki Cross was in NXT.

    That will be awesome.

On the main roster it is, Mistery6.

That’s great and all (not really the first ever in history-Asuka and Nikki Cross hold that title in WWE, just on the main roster), but what are the other women going to be doing? I don’t want everyone to be in a tag team. This could be a great PPV to renew fans faith that they can showcase ALL the women as strong competitors, but right now they seem to be more worried about this world cup thing. I’m going to need some of the NXT, Mae Young Classic, and/or vets to return and start attacking the women on Raw and SD to get me excited again for tis PPV because right now it’s seeming like a afterthought behind Crown Jewel, a real clusterf*#k
