It's official! John Cena has joined the cast of "Fast & Furious 9."

Deadline first reported the casting and Cena confirmed the news via Twitter. 

"For nearly 20 years, the Fast Franchise has entertained fans and created some of the biggest cinematic moments in history," he wrote.

Adding, "It’s an incredible honor to join this franchise and this family."

According to Deadline, Cena's character is being described as a "badass" ... but additional details are being kept under wraps.

As you may recall, Vin Diesel teased Cena joining the cast in April with a video where he said he felt like the WWE star had been sent to him from beyond by deceased actor Paul Walker. 

Production on the movie begins later this month.
