After months of legal wrangling, Joey Ryan has finally been released from his Lucha Underground contract ... and "The King Of Dong Style" has just issued his first statement on the situation.

"I am now a free agent. Free from any contracts. Free from any bosses. Free from any restrictions," Joey wrote in a statement he shared today on social media.

"The last few years of my career haven't been without highlights," Joey added, before listing some proud moments including main-eventing the Cow Palace and appearing on the Netflix series GLOW. "But now it honestly feels like I have a new lease on my direction and where I'm going in pro wrestling."

Adding, "Most of my accomplishments have been fan driven due to the overwhelming support I have received so I just wanted to take a moment to thank all the fans who have accompanied me on this journey so far and hope you will continue on the adventure."

As we previously reported, Lucha Underground recently released Joey and some of his colleagues (El Hijo del Fantasma, Texano Jr., Ivelisse and Kobra Moon) after the group pursued legal action against the company.
