WWE legend Jimmy Snuka plead not guilty Monday to the 1983 murder of his girlfriend ... but admitted he's currently having trouble remembering anything at all -- including what day it is.

Snuka appeared in front of a judge in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania and pled not guilty to 3rd degree murder and involuntary manslaughter.  He's accused of killing Nancy Argento during an altercation in their hotel room over 30 years ago.

According to the Morning Call ... Superfly spoke for the first time in court Monday and claimed he didn't know what day it was or the what city the courthouse was in. His lawyer said it was due to early onset dementia and post-concussion syndrome.

The 72 year-old Hall of Fame wrestler also told the judge he can't read or write English, his primary language, because he says he was merely homeschooled on the Fiji Islands where he's from.

Jimmy Snuka's next appearance in court is scheduled for December 8th.

The judge also issued a gag order to keep both sides from the speaking with the media, and Snuka's lawyer insinuated he'd be attempting to move the case to a county with less press coverage.
