Legendary wrestling announcer Jim Ross claims he suffered a rib injury after taking a spill during Saturday night’s G1 Special at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.
“For the record, the ‘bump’ I took at ringside at #G1SanFrancisco was not storyline driven matter nor was it discussed,” tweeted Ross. “I think I broke a rib. Couldn’t put my roller bag in the overhead today after a sleepless Sat night.”
During the special, Jay White tossed Juice Robinson into the barricade in front of Ross and announcer Josh Barnett. When Robinson hit the barricade, JR went down … sending Barnett marching after White. Ross eventually composed himself and got back to work.
Many fans questioned whether the injury was legitimate or part of the show after it occurred, which is why Jim finally set the record straight on Sunday.
