WWE has announced Hulk Hogan will make his return to Raw next week to honor the late "Mean" Gene Okerlund.

The announcement on WWE.com states:

“Let me tell you something, ‘Mean’ Gene …”

So began many of Hulk Hogan's most memorable proclamations, making interviewer and backstage personality "Mean" Gene Okerlund a cornerstone of Hulkamania in the 1980s. Now, in the wake of Okerlund’s recent passing, Hogan returns to WWE programming this Monday night on Raw to honor his longtime friend.

The company is referring to Hulk's return as a milestone moment in WWE.

As you may recall, Hogan returned to WWE programming at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia last year at the top of the show ... but it was never mentioned on WWE television.

This will be Hogan's first appearance on Raw since he was fired from the company before an audio leak occurred where he was heard making racist comments.

Think this is the right way to bring him back? Sound off in the comments.
