Stand back ... because Shane Helms used his hurripowers for good this morning and volunteered at an elementary school to read books to children.

Shane -- in full Hurricane Helms attire -- was invited to help with "Read Across America" week in North Carolina and spent the morning getting kids excited about reading.

His social media post read: "It was my pleasure and honor to spend the morning reading to kids for “Read Across America” week. Encourage your children to read! Closed books lead to closed minds."
