WWE's new Executive Director of SmackDown Live Eric Bischoff has accomplished a lot of things throughout his legendary career, but the former WCW exec says "the best is yet to come."

"Equally humbled, honored, and more excited than I can possibly articulate here," Bischoff tweeted.

As we reported, Bischoff will oversee the creative development of SmackDown. He'll also “ensure integration across all platforms and lines of business.” The same goes for Paul Heyman on Raw.

Sources tell us the behind the scenes changeover won’t be immediate, however, and everything will still be run through Vince McMahon at this point.

Bischoff's tweet concludes saying, "Thank you so much for the overwhelming support. It’s been an amazing journey and the best is yet to come. @WWE #SDLive"

In case you missed it, Eric was advertised for SmackDown Live next week in an email blast promoting tickets to local fans ... but we're told the show hasn't been finalized behind the scenes just yet and the email wasn't supposed to be sent out.

The preview for Raw does not mention Paul Heyman's presence.
