WWE allowed James Ellsworth to make a surprise early return to the indies last night in Ontario, Canada and it ended with a Tombstone piledriver from Pete Dunne.

It all went down at Destiny Wrestling after Ellsworth won their first-ever Santino Cobra Cup (a Royal Rumble-like match). Then, during the Dunne vs. Austin Aries main event later in the night, James interfered and caused the Impact star to lose.

Ellsworth attempted to cash in his title opportunity at that point, but was hit with with a Tombstone and sent packing by the Bruiserweight.

The former WWE Superstar tweeted after the show saying, "Thanks for letting me a surprise tonight in Canada, had a blast, felt good to perform again, I missed it.."
