Former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan says he needs the approval of one last doctor before WWE officials will clear him to wrestle -- but if that doesn't happen, his ideas for the future will surely excite wrestling fans.

Despite receiving clearance from a respected doctor in the field, Daniel Bryan told IGN that WWE doc Joseph Maroon is skeptical to allow him back into their ring based on his history of concussions.

Now, Daniel's fate lie in the hands of one last doctor -- who he's scheduled to meet with in the near future to get a third opinion on the matter.

The 34 year-old remains optimistic and claims he's still training for a return to WWE ... but if that doesn't work out, he's toyed with the idea of returning to the indies -- as well as headlining a CMLL anniversary show in a mask vs. hair match of some sort.

Bryan also admits, "if they send me to a third neurologist who's also highly respected in the concussion field and they say literally no ... well, then is it really smart to go against two doctors? I get all fired up ... and then I'm like, maybe that's not the best thing for me and my family going forward."

Daniel talks about some of this in the IGN video below. Check it out!
