Cody Rhodes has released a statement about the promotion he’s part of launching called All Elite Wrestling, saying this is his dream job.
I feel so damn lucky. I believe that more than talent…more than chance…work ethic will guide me where I’d like to go.
To be Executive Vice President for our new venture, and to be flanked by Matt and Nick and a few familiar names sharing that position: this is my dream job.
I can’t think of a time when so many of wrestling’s top free agents all opted out of the road usually traveled and instead wanted to start something new. I am excited to see AEW into existence.
What’s old isn’t new – what’s new is new. Perception isn’t reality – reality is reality.
As we previously reported, Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham F.C. co-owner Tony Khan will serve as President of All Elite Wrestling. Similar to the All In event, sources tell us Cody will be Executive Producer of the company’s events and Matt/Nick Jackson will be bookers for the promotion.
Matt tweeted about the announcement last night saying, “Thank you for making the decision to do this a no-brainer. We cannot do it without you.”
All Elite Wrestling has a rally scheduled for next week at TIAA Field where they’ll be announcing more details about the followup to All In called “Double or Nothing.”
