Another top name in mixed martial arts may be transitioning from the octagon to squared circle. Former two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez spent time training this week at WWE's Performance Center in Orlando.

Rumors began to fly last night after Velasquez appeared in the crowd at NXT's television tapings. This morning, WWE announced the MMA great was working out at the PC with coach Norman Smiley.

“My experience here has been amazing,” Velasquez told WWE.com. “I’m just looking forward to being here and learning as much as I can. I’ve been a fan of the sport since I was a little kid, and now I get to participate in it.”

Pro Wrestling Sheet reached out to sources in attempt to find out whether this was a one-time visit or if he'd be making a full-time transition to the wrestling ring. WWE sources say the visit seemed to just be a temporary thing -- but that could always change.

As you may recall, Velasquez defeated Brock Lesnar to end one of his UFC title reigns.
