Former WWE star Ashley Massaro has passed away at the age of 39-years-old.

According to The Blast, the Suffolk County Medical Examiner death says Massaro passed away on Thursday and that her death is currently under investigation. 

Ashley's cause of death has not been confirmed at this time. 

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday in New York, according to a good friend of hers who shared the details in a Facebook post. 

Ashley Massaro entered WWE in the 2005 Diva Search, which she ultimately won. During her time with WWE, she was featured as a contestant on the 2007 season of Survivor and posed on the cover of Playboy magazine. She was released from her contract in 2008.

Massaro teased a return to the ring back in March.

She last tweeted on Wednesday saying she had answered fan mail she was planning to send out.
