Former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio admits he backed out of a gig because promoters failed to book him on business class -- but the wrestler is adamant he's not to blame for the cancellation.

WXW in Germany released a statement saying Del Rio -- now known as Alberto El Patron -- would no longer be appearing at their event this weekend because his management requested a seat upgrade that would have cost around $7K.

But Alberto tweeted saying that's just not true ... claiming he was hired by a third party under conditions he doesn't normally agree too -- and says a deal was eventually worked out that would include his normal terms, including business class.

Alberto stated, "WXW Germany take the physical challenge and please tell me/fans what promoter has flown me coach and not Business? Inquiring minds want to know. Why is it after they have sold tickets and just a couple days away from the event they want to cling to old agreements? How is my manager to blame? Threats of screenshots and emails. Now a days this is easy to falsify. Let's be professional."

Del Rio also claims he never received most of the things needed to get there -- like itinerary.

Alberto adds, "I will not be bullied by promoters into working conditions I did not agree."
