Former IWGP Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles has NOT signed a deal yet with WWE, despite reports — but sources close to the wrestler tell us an offer is definitely on the table.
The Wrestling Observer reported yesterday that AJ Styles gave his resignation notice to NJPW and had already signed a deal with WWE … however the story has now been altered and only IMPLIES a deal will eventually be inked.
Sources close to the situation tell us AJ is not signed to any company at this point, but has “various options pending” now that he’s no longer working with ROH/New Japan.
As for Shinsuke Nakamura, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows — who also reportedly left NJPW to sign WWE deals — so far no official word on their contractual status. According to sources, however, it sounds like they may be in the same situation.
Only time will tell.
